Barbara Stefaniuk's Obituary:
Stefaniuk, Barbara |

||
Barbara Joan (Funk) Stefaniuk was born on February 2, 1966 at Hague, SK to Tony and Gladys Funk. She had enjoyable times growing up on the family farm with her two brothers. She was usually in the midst of things when there were functions going on whether in school settings, at church, or family gatherings. Her early years were not without difficulties. She lost an infant brother when she was seven years old. Then at age thirteen she unexpectedly lost her Mother. Subsequently she learned to adapt to and love a new Mother. She made many new friends when she took Grades 11 & 12 at Rosthern Junior College. That was followed by studying at U. of S. where she acquired her B.Ed. Love came knocking during that time when she met and married Terry Stefaniuk and moved to Kerrobert where they were both in teaching positions. She often taught both playschool and Grade 12 on the same day, and spoke highly of both. She was diagnosed with MS eight years ago, but that wasn't going to stop her. Then 2.5 years ago she developed RCC (Renal Cell Carcinoma Cancer). She also bravely battled that affliction until she could no longer battle. Many people didn't know she had either of these sicknesses. To Barb family was very important. Her children were the pride of her life. She followed Matthews hockey goalie career avidly and also made sure he got a lot of exposure to farming. Zachary is the family Bible expert who gave Barb much pride. Vanessa is the pretty little girl who Barb loved to dress up and make feel special. She was also very supportive of Terry during his years of teaching and being principal. She loved to throw "theme" parties. Her Christmas letters were always very creative. She was a pianist, performer with Simply Superb, Music Festival co-ordinator, hockey referee co-ordinator, church choir leader, busy Mother and wife. She even allowed herself the time to join the ladies tap dance group. Family travels were pursued joyfully the last few years in order to develop valuable family memories. She was not going to wait for death. She lived abundantly till the end. Barb is survived by her loving husband, Terry, and their children Matthew, Zachary, and Vanessa which were very special to her. Father and Mother, Tony and Jacqueline Funk, brothers Glendon and Steven, motherin-law Olga Stefaniuk, brother-in-law Bill (Jackie) Stefaniuk and their sons Max and Riley. She was predeceased by her Mother, Gladys, infant brother Lloyd, and father-inlaw Morris Stefaniuk. Barb passed away early September 23 into the presence of her Lord and Savior. Her funeral is planned for Saturday September 25 at 2:00 PM at Our Lady of Assumption Parish, Kerrobert. Interment will follow on Sunday September 26, 12:00 noon, at the Hague Cemetery. As family and friends we are very proud of a life fully lived. We are comforted in knowing that Barb has now reached her heavenly home. | |||
